Support Box Styles FAQ About EZ Box Resources | Box Styles: | Box styles are cataloged by an international case code (box number), by FEFCO. Common boxes are named in AICC's Fibre Box Handbook. (See Resources.) EZ Box operators can select a box style by either entering the box number, or by selecting the box name from a list. | Box Sizes: | Box sizes are limited only by the length of knife installed (= length of slot) and the length of body score. In general - For a Regular Slotted Case (RSC, #0201), Box length - no minimum or maximum Box width - up to 36" wide on Models 870/ 872; up to 44" wide on Model 970 Box depth - up to 44" deep on Models 870/872; up to 94" deep on Model 970 | Pre-Programming: | Over a dozen of the most common styles are pre-programmed. Operators simply enter box parameters (length, width, depth, etc). The boxmaker computes the blanks size, and scoring and slotting locations. For other styles, operators enter the desired location of up to 16 slots to produce almost any style or variation desired. Upon request, EZ Box will pre-program any box style using customer-specified parameters. See Pre-Programmed Styles and All Styles. | Allowances: | Box dimensions specify the inside dimensions of a box. Since a portion of the corrugated boxboard folds to the inside, an allowance is added to panels and flaps, so that when folded, the resulting inside dimensions are as desired. For pre-programmed styles, EZ Boxmakers can use either of two methods to add allowances. Operators can either enter a boxboard thickness (or selected a boxboard from a list), and allowances are computed based upon thickness. Or, the operator can simply select the boxboard from a list, and allowances are drawn from a table (customers may specify allowance tables to match their production specifications.) | Additional scores: | EZ Boxmakers can add scores parallel to the flap score, to make additional styles such as multi-depth boxes, or boxes with flaps that double over. With the Model 970, operators apply additional scores during the single pass by positioning additional scoring heads as required. With the Model 870 or 872, operators apply additional scores by repositioning the backstop, and running the boxboard without slotting. | | For all boxes: | Minimum blank length - Model 870 and Model 872, 12" / 305mm Model 970, 14" / 355mm |
